People's perspective of leadership
Many "assume" that leadership is about sitting on top and commanding people to do what they are unable to do (which is someone they will never push themselves to do or agree to).
Instead, leadership is something that's larger than the person in that position. Being a leader is about giving a ton of empathy, understanding, listening, and you have to work physically and mentally for it.
It is about pushing people into the best possible position, mood, and environment so that they can give their best. Everything else is book-based leadership.
Since there are so many startup founders out there, many assume that being in the early team makes you an automatic leader. This is the BS that I run away from. Every leader must have a ton of self-reflection about who they really are, invest time in themselves, and dedicate a ton of brain power for the company they are working for.
Remember: being a leader is not success. Success is a feeling that comes from within. For that to happen, you need to know who you are. Stop running, pause, and talk to yourself.
